About out guest Dj:
Based in Lisbon, Ricardo has caught the infectious Vinyl records bug, influenced by vinyl Djs like Paulinho, Sampa, and Luciano. He firstly builded a solid background as an electronic music DJ (trance, electro, techno) from 2002 to 2009, preforming across the globe—from Brazil to India and all over Europe. He has entertained crowds ranging from a handful of people to 5000-strong. He now thrives on bringing unique themes and feelings to each of his forró sets.

Navigating the pulsating rhythms of Forró, DJ Baião @dj_baiao combines his vinyl and digital collections with a unique flair and deep musical sensibility. His mission is to inspire participants to fully immerse themselves in the rich, timeless culture of Northeast Brazil through the power of dance and connection to it. Originally from Porto, João (also known as DJ Baião) now lives in Northern Germany, where he has been passionately promoting Forró since 2016, especially in the cities of Hamburg and Lübeck.

Also in September, just in time for Oktoberfest 🥨🍻we’ll have the pleasure to welcome a true forró power couple in Munich. Get ready for Giovanna Silveira and Icaro Abreu, giving two workshops at The Munich Collective, on Friday 20.09 💃🏻🕺

🌴She is from Bahia, he is from Minas Gerais. They began their partnership in 2022, teaching classes together in several cities in Brazil, such as Salvador, Itaúnas, Brasília, Petrolina, and Rio de Janeiro. They were Champions of the 1st Forró Tournament held by Buraco do Tatu in Itaúnas (2022). Their classes focus on the cultural aspect of forró, specially the union between universitario and roots styles, always working within the idea of dance as a dialogue with autonomy and responsibility for both roles.

Come and experience the trio Desabafo no Pé – one of the most exciting new bands of Forró Pé de Serra! 😍 For the first time playing live in Munich on Friday 13.09, with their energetic performance and strong interaction with the audience, the trio will inspire both Forró veterans and newcomers ❤️‍🔥

📣 You can spend the whole weekend with us! We will have the great Sheila Santos giving forró workshops on Saturday 14.09 and a teachers training on Sunday 15.09😉

🎶Desabafo no Pé brings a breath of fresh air to Europe’s traditional forró scene by keeping alive the music and culture of the great forró masters. The name of the trio, “Desabafo no Pé”, stands for the power of expressing emotions through dance and music and is deeply connected to the Brazilian culture of the northeast. In 2023 and 2024, the trio performed on stages in 10 European countries, including the Paléo Festival in Switzerland, the Teatro Munganga in the Netherlands and the Sommerfest in Austria.
